Restaurants and other commercial activities will require you to show your vaccination certificate at the entrance. We strongly recommend to make a copy of your CDC vaccination card and have it along with a copy of your passport for a quick and efficient check.
Local restaurants are often good and offer authentic menus of local food. One thing you should keep in mind is that, a typical Portuguese habit is to bring bread, olives and other small snacks at the beginning of the meal. If you are not going to eat them, tell the waiter right away or they will charge you for them. They are not trying to scam you, it is just a different habit from other countries.
Most of the hotels you are going to stay in have amazing SPAs and restaurants that you may want to try. Make sure to book your table, massage or beauty treatment in advance or you may not find an available spot.
Please check this topic frequently as we may update it from time to time following the EU and Portuguese government's guidance. At the present time (February 2022) citizens from the USA can fly to Portugal by showing a negative Covid-19 rapid (antigenic) test performed no longer than 48 hours before the flight's departure time. The same is required to fly back to the USA.
This rule applies regardless of vaccination status.
