Known to be the birthplace of the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques, Guimaraes will throw you back in time to the middle ages with its stone walled buildings and gothic architecture. After having lunch in one of the most traditional restaurants of the town you will proceed to Braga to see the Santuario do Bom Jesus (Sanctuary of Good Jesus) with its spectacular water-activated funicular.

DAY 1
Board your bus with our local guide and reach Guimaraes, the birthplace of Portugal. Upon arrival, visit the Duke's Palace and walk through this amazing medieval town before having lunch in one of the most typical restaurants. Proceed to Braga, known to be the "happiest town in Portugal" and enjoy its water activated funicular that will take you to the Santcuary of Good Jesus, an amazing Neoclassical building atop a hill. At the end, board the bus again and drive back to Porto to rest at your hotel.
